In the capital New Delhi, the BJP is leading in all the seven parliamentary constituencies that have been contested.

Exit polls of voters had predicted this sweep, but more interesting is that in the previous four parliamentary elections, Delhi has unanimously elected candidates of one national party.

In the 2014 elections, all seven winning members of parliament were from the BJP, and the Indian National Congress achieved the same victory in 2009 and 2004 elections.

In the 1999 election, fought during the days of the BJP's Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the party had similarly bagged all the seven seats in the city.
